What's inside the Millennium Falcon? (Star Wars)

Summary: This video covers a complete tour of the Millennium Falcon from Star Wars.  The Millennium Falcon is a modified YT-1300 Corellian Light Freighter.  The starship has had many owners including Lando Calrissian and Han Solo.  The outside features of the ship include the mandibles, docking ports, sublight engines, heat exhaust vents, rectenna dish and the quad laser cannons.

How does an Oscillating Fan work?

Video Summary: That table top fan you have next to you is more interesting than you think!  I took mine apart so I could show you how it works.  The "four speed mechanism" releases any other button that was previously pressed down.  Once a button is pressed a signal (voltage) is sent to the motor at the top of the fan.  The oscillation motion is produced through the 4 bar mechanism. The last part of the video covers the gears that turn the 4 bar mechanism.  The pin is part of the gears - when it is lifted the gears don't connect and the fan will no longer oscillate back and forth.

How does a Tank work? (M1A2 Abrams)

Come see how a tank works!  In this video we're going to look specifically at the American M1A2 Abrams tank.  The tank weighs 68 US Tons and can go up to 42 miles per hour.  Parts of the tank include the caterpillar tracks, the wheels, the hull, and the turret.  The caterpillar tracks are used to displace the weight of the tank allowing it cross rough terrain.  The tank holds a crew of 4 - the driver, gunner, commander and the loader.  The driver is up front and the other 3 are in the turret. The engine is in the back of the tank, it's an AGT-1500 which is powered by jet fuel.

How does an Escalator work?

We use it all the time but most people have never actually seen the inner workings of an escalator!

Summary: I've animated the inside to give you a detailed look at the steps, step chain, gears, handrail, and the motor.  My favorite part is how the steps always stay level when they're on top.  In this video we also take a look at how escalators layouts such as side by side or the criss-cross configuration.  And yes...they really do have spiral escalators!  Maybe I'll cover that in a future video.
